About me
I'm Rens (Wouter) van der Heijden. Currently, I work at the Expleo Group. Before my time at Expleo, I had a brief academic career as a PostDoc in Computer Science at the Institut für verteilte Systeme (institute of distributed systems) at the Ulm University (in Germany). Before that, I did my PhD at the same institute, working on misbehavior detection in cooperative intelligent transport systems. Before that, I was a Master student (Kerckhoffs track) at the University of Twente, Netherlands). I graduated cum laude (24 August, 2012) and won the ENIAC prize (for the year 2012, on November 23rd) with my thesis. It was later accepted at WiSec 2013 (see below). My current research interests include misbehavior and intrusion detection in cyber-physical systems, most notably vehicular ad-hoc networks and industrial control systems. I was involved in the CONVERGE, CRISALIS, and AutoDetect. I am currently involved in the SecForCARs project. Read more about research here. You can find out an enumeration of things I created in the bachelor/master on the bottom of this page.
I'm also (semi)-active on some web platforms; see this page for more information. I've signed this statement, saying that I will not publish, referee or do editorial work for Elsevier. Please consider doing the same!
